Pupil Premium
Publicly funded schools in England receive additional funding from the government to improve outcomes for pupils who may face disadvantage.
National evidence shows that pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds can face additional barriers to learning and, historically, may not achieve as highly as their peers. The Pupil Premium is designed to address this by supporting schools to raise attainment, accelerate progress and improve long-term outcomes.
At our schools, this funding is used strategically to ensure that every pupil achieves well, with a strong focus on high-quality teaching, targeted academic support and wider provision that removes barriers to learning.
Eligibility and Funding
Pupil Premium funding is allocated based on the number of eligible pupils in school. This includes:
Free School Meals (FSM)
Schools receive £1,345 for each primary-aged pupil who is currently eligible for free school meals or has been eligible at any point in the last six years.
Looked-after and Previously Looked-after Children
Schools receive £2,345 for each pupil who is in local authority care or who has previously been in care and left through adoption, a special guardianship order or a child arrangements order.
Service Premium
Schools receive £310 for each pupil with a parent who is serving in HM Forces or is in receipt of a Ministry of Defence pension. This funding is used to provide additional pastoral and emotional support.
Our Approach
We use Pupil Premium funding to:
-
